From Summer into Autumn...

What fun we had at the July market! Hundreds of visitors came along to enjoy the sunshine – and it was a particularly special day for our four-legged friends, with the market’s first ever dog show declared a great success.

Big and small, young and old – canine fans were treated to dozens of different breeds, from basset hounds to labradors, pointers to jackapoos. Lots of prizes, rosettes and tasty treats were handed out – a big thank you to Laura Knapp from our sponsor Kingsclere Vets, for her expert judging skills.

With summer so up and down this year, we’re hoping for some autumn sunshine at the pemultimate market this year, on Saturday 28th September.

There’s the usual extensive range of food and drink – fresh fish, tempting bakery, farm produce and sweet treats. Maybe you’re looking to add some colour to your garden or home with design advice or new homewares. You might even be thinking about starting (dare we say it?!) your Christmas shopping early. There’s gifts, jewellery and crafts galore, whether you’re treating yourself, someone else – even your pet. Or maybe stock up the alcohol cupboard ready for the festive season!

The ever-popular tearoom will, for the first time, be run by volunteers from Newbury Soup Kitchen. All proceeds will go to this important local charity which provides hot meals, support and outreach to homeless and vulnerable people in West Berkshire. Find out more by visiting www.newburysoupkitchen.org.uk.

Whether you’re a regular or a first time visitor, we’d love to see you in September!
